Cathy French is a teacher who guides Yoga Nidra practices that honour Irish Animism + the Celtic wheel of the year. Her work centers intimacy and reciprocity with the planet, our ancestors and unlocking the intuitive wisdom of our human bodies.
As a rising Irish voice within the wellness and eco-sensual community, Cathy’s personal manifesto encompasses ‘decolonising Irish animism, becoming a better ancestor and helping students to forge reconnection with the more-than-human world’. She is passionate about guiding people back to an embodied presence through the principles of pleasure, movement and deep rest.
Cathy’s approach honours a relational, earth-based spirituality. Her work draws on a deep grá for poetry, Eros and the power of spoken word. She encourages her students to live into their questions.
Her workshops and teacher trainings are conducted within a warm, supportive, womb-positive, and queer-affirming environment informed by core values of compassion, integrity, social, racial and earth justice.
Cathy is a secondary school English teacher, advocate for migrant and refugee teenagers and Ethos lead at Marino College, Dublin. She is a member of The Irish Refugee Council and is on the teacher’s advisory panel for Schools of Sanctuary Ireland.
